Why choose us?

Alex combines her psychotherapy, EMDR, parts work, attachment, somatic, and dog training and experiences with furry best friends! The dogs can be one of JR H&W’s or yours. JR H&W’s dogs are rescues with beautiful abilities to assess dysregulation and provide physical grounding, licks, and prompts to play.

Samuel Jackson “Sam”

Sam has been part of Alex’s life since he was rescued at 12 weeks old from an accidental litter in Roanoke, VA. Now a trained psychiatric service dog, Sam is an essential part of Alex’s personal life and psychotherapy sessions. Sam is attuned to responses in human nervous systems and with his gentle eyes and comforting presence he provides regulatory support as he lays at clients' feet or by their side.

Mrs. Moseph “Mo”

Mo joined the pack after her previous parent was no longer able to care for her. She is a vibrant and silly pup. She offers endless love, licks, and laughs! She will gladly accompany you for a mindfulness session in nature where she encourages you to stop and sniff!

“… what truly sets Alex apart is her profound empathy not just towards her human clients but also towards our four-legged companions.”
